First haircut (sniff sniff).

Today Sive got his very first haircut.  It was more emotional than either Michael or I had expected.  Sive did wonderfully- we went to a kids oriented place with play structures, DVDs, and a variety of cool cars to sit in while getting a haircut.  Michael will relay a slightly different story, but when given the choice between two vehicles- a yellow jeep or a powder blue and pink Cinderella car - Sive chose to sit in the sparkly Cinderella car for his first hairdo! Here are some before shots of our little boy with his baby locks:

And here are some during and after shots of our grown up, little man!!

Big boy!

Sorry- had to keep the little rat tail!

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree (2011)

While my mom was visiting we enjoyed as many Christmas-y activities at possible- one of which was getting a beautiful Christmas tree for our beautiful new house.  Sive seemed to enjoy it however his favorite part was definitely the dog at the Christmas tree farm- "Cocoa."  He repeatedly ask, "Where Cocoa go?" and most enjoyed talking to Cocoa from the other side of his chain-linked pen.

I'm big!

My mom hasn't had time to blog- but I wanted to update you about all the cool stuff I'm doing.  Check it out- not only am I 19 months and saying lots of phrases- I like to have a lot of fun:

I'm good at driving cars.

I love throwing balls- especially at Tilly.

It's fun to ride bikes.

And eat yummy snacks.

I also love playing animals with my dad.

And acting like a puppy with my mom.

Seriously...I'm big.

2011 "Pumpi" Patch

Today we headed out to Heiser Farms to meet up with the Stiles and explore an awesome pumpkin patch that included tractors, train rides, pumpkin cannons, a hay ride, AND a petting zoo.  We were blessed with perfect weather, great company, and a very happy toddler. Needless to say we had an amazing time.  Sive LOVED all the farm animals, particularly the chicks (that he called "peep peeps") and the bunnies (that he continually signed "bunny" to).  We had a great time riding the train together and then he was all about climbing up and driving the big John Deer tractors.  The best part however was Sive repeatedly requesting "up, up, up!" to sit on the "pumpi"s (Sive talk for pumpkins) in the patch and then screaming "doe doe doe!" for (GO GO GO) hoping the pumpkins would take him for a fast and furious ride.  We captured many great pics so it was hard to narrow them down- enjoy (we sure did!).

A boy after his mama's heart.

Not only does Sive routinely clean up, but that boy loves his accessories- specifically hats and shoes.  He's always been one for his beanie hats, but over the summer he's developed a particular affinity for a loud trucker hat with gold metallic stitching. He asks for it regularly- walking around, patting his head, saying "Ha?" "Ha"?" repeatedly.  Fortunately once in a while I am able to get him in a plaid summer hat instead.  As for shoes, we are typically a "no shoes" household, but Sive would prefer that everyone wear shoes (and socks) so he goes to the closet, gets a matching pair of shoes, and brings them to you and says "soos!" "soos!" until you agree to put them on.  This weekend, we found a pair of yellow galoshes which he is already obsessed with.  I can just see him kickin' around at daycare in those bad boys.

Double Rainbow: July 4th holiday on Bainbridge with the Norlings.

After a few months of nonstop house projects (photos and blog post to come- I promise!) we decided to get out of dodge and head up to Bainbridge Island with the Norlings for the July 4th holiday.  It was a much needed get away with lots and lots of sunshine, laughs, and double rainbows.  Thanks Darcy and Grant!
