I'm big!

My mom hasn't had time to blog- but I wanted to update you about all the cool stuff I'm doing.  Check it out- not only am I 19 months and saying lots of phrases- I like to have a lot of fun:

I'm good at driving cars.

I love throwing balls- especially at Tilly.

It's fun to ride bikes.

And eat yummy snacks.

I also love playing animals with my dad.

And acting like a puppy with my mom.

Seriously...I'm big.

2011 "Pumpi" Patch

Today we headed out to Heiser Farms to meet up with the Stiles and explore an awesome pumpkin patch that included tractors, train rides, pumpkin cannons, a hay ride, AND a petting zoo.  We were blessed with perfect weather, great company, and a very happy toddler. Needless to say we had an amazing time.  Sive LOVED all the farm animals, particularly the chicks (that he called "peep peeps") and the bunnies (that he continually signed "bunny" to).  We had a great time riding the train together and then he was all about climbing up and driving the big John Deer tractors.  The best part however was Sive repeatedly requesting "up, up, up!" to sit on the "pumpi"s (Sive talk for pumpkins) in the patch and then screaming "doe doe doe!" for (GO GO GO) hoping the pumpkins would take him for a fast and furious ride.  We captured many great pics so it was hard to narrow them down- enjoy (we sure did!).

A boy after his mama's heart.

Not only does Sive routinely clean up, but that boy loves his accessories- specifically hats and shoes.  He's always been one for his beanie hats, but over the summer he's developed a particular affinity for a loud trucker hat with gold metallic stitching. He asks for it regularly- walking around, patting his head, saying "Ha?" "Ha"?" repeatedly.  Fortunately once in a while I am able to get him in a plaid summer hat instead.  As for shoes, we are typically a "no shoes" household, but Sive would prefer that everyone wear shoes (and socks) so he goes to the closet, gets a matching pair of shoes, and brings them to you and says "soos!" "soos!" until you agree to put them on.  This weekend, we found a pair of yellow galoshes which he is already obsessed with.  I can just see him kickin' around at daycare in those bad boys.

Double Rainbow: July 4th holiday on Bainbridge with the Norlings.

After a few months of nonstop house projects (photos and blog post to come- I promise!) we decided to get out of dodge and head up to Bainbridge Island with the Norlings for the July 4th holiday.  It was a much needed get away with lots and lots of sunshine, laughs, and double rainbows.  Thanks Darcy and Grant!

Happy Belated First Birthday Sive!

Sadly with all the craziness of the move and my newly found exercise trend- chasing after a destructive toddler all day long- I have not taken the time to blog about Sive's first birthday celebrations.  In true Mangan form, we stretched the celebrations over a two week period- starting with my mom and Dave visiting over the Easter weekend, including a shared first birthday party at Gymboree with our best friend, Opal Norling, and then concluding visits to OMSI, eating pancakes, and opening presents while Michael's mom and brother were visiting for Sive's actual birthday.  Too bad the little man had a bad ear infection and Michael had pink eye- but we didn't let either of those things keep us down and we enjoyed a full two weeks of Sive while in complete wonderment that a year had flown by.  Here are some of the pictorial highlights:

BIRTHDAY PARTY:

Sive wasn't too sure about the cupcake but he eventually ate some of the cake and then proceeded to smash the rest of his birthday dessert all over his birthday buddie.  Sorry Opal:

EASTER WITH MOMMOM:

"I like finding Cheerios inside the eggs. Yum."

MUSIC TOGETHER CLASS WITH G-MA:

Seriously- could he be any cuter??

TRIP TO OMSI ON SIVE'S BIRTHDAY:

BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER FROM DADA:
"No way!?? For me??"
"I can't believe I got my own guitar!  Did you guys see this thing?"
"Now I can be just like my dada."

"Show me the chords again dad."
